Wassail Evenings

Wassail is a hot, fruity drink, served in mugs. It’s
often associated with the Christmas season, as in the
carol “Here We Come A-Wassailing among the leaves so
green….” The word “wassail” is from the Old English
phrase waes haeil, meaning “be healthy.” That’s just
what we’re all about at Gingerbread Manor ~ Health,
wholeness, and good living!
At Gingerbread Manor, we serve a non-alcoholic wassail,
which resembles mulled cider. Wassail is typically
served in a large, ceramic punch bowl. We use a slow
cooker and a pottery bowl to keep everything piping hot.
Dip into the Wassail Bowl to enjoy a hot beverage of
days gone by in a Victorian mansion while you add to
your own “Friends” list. Real ones! It’s all about
connections… All Wassail Cultural Evenings include
veggies/hummus tray and cheese/crackers board. Wassail
Cultural Evenings begin at 7:30 pm and end when the
party dies down…
Please call 585-494-1795 and let us know you’ll be
there. If we are full for the evening, we can alert you
on the phone rather than having you find out at the
door!
“House Performances”

A unique, inexpensive evening out! An intimate
setting, live music, good snacks – what could be better?
Widen your “friends” list on a face-to-face evening. The
hook? Listen to live music by talented, local musicians
or stories by a notable storyteller. In warm weather, we
hold the performances in the rustic barn that pre-dates
the house. Otherwise, they are held in the house. Please
call to let us know you’re coming! Sign up for our email
mailing list to get notices about who is performing
when!
